Ragging on torque seal until a 737 wheel change at Midway made me eat my words
For 4 years I called torque seal a crutch for guys who couldn't be trusted with a wrench, right up until a tire swap on a 737 at Midway last Tuesday when I found two lug nuts on the same wheel that somebody had torqued, marked, and then backed off a quarter turn before the plane ever left the gate. I was the one who found it because the paint line was split clean down the middle, and all I could think about was my own words from last spring. So what flipped your view on a shortcut or habit you used to look down on?
