inA trip to the hardware store made me rethink my whole approach to paint samples
Remember painting a whole wall "sunshine yellow" that turned into school bus yellow by noon.

inMy sister couldn't read the menu at a diner in Boise because of the colors they used.
Right? Why do they always pick the worst lighting too, like some dim moody vibe that makes it impossible to see anything. It's like they want you to just guess or order the most expensive thing by default. At that point I just pull out my phone flashlight, zero shame.

inRant: My book club argued for 45 minutes about whether the ending of 'Klara and the Sun' was hopeful or bleak
Honestly that whole debate sounds like the point. My friend group still argues about the movie Inception, like a decade later. Some stories just leave you with that good kind of unsettled feeling.

inTIL my old method for checking tube alignment was way off
Ever have that moment where a simple tool shows you've been doing it wrong? I used to swear by my old bubble level for framing until a guy on site had a digital one. Seeing that tiny digital readout prove my "level" was off by a full degree was a real gut punch. What was your first big "oh, I'm the problem" moment with a tool?

inUnpopular opinion: Heard a guy at the shop in Toledo say 'tighter tolerances are always better' and honestly, that's how you wreck a part and waste time.
Yeah, that's a good way to burn time and money. Read an article once where an engineer said the goal isn't the tightest tolerance, it's the right tolerance for the job. If the part just sits there, you're just adding cost for no reason. That guy in Toledo is gonna learn the hard way when his projects are always late and over budget.
