A veteran tech in Reno warned me about mounting panels on brick without anchors, and my drill almost proved him right
He said to always use a hammer drill and plastic anchors because tapcons alone can crack older brick. I ignored the anchor part on one job and a chunk of mortar popped loose at chest height on the second screw. Anyone got a favorite anchor for soft brick that won't blow out the face?

A buddy swears by those nylon screw-in anchors for soft brick, says they grab without stressing the face.
