Am I the only one who finds keypads mounted at 60 inches instead of 48?
I keep running into this on service calls around Denver. Last Tuesday I hit a house where the installer put the main panel at 60 inches off the floor and the homeowner could not reach the top row without a step stool. The code and most manuals point to 48 inches as the access height for a reason, it lines up with the natural reach and keeps wires from getting pinched at the top of the back box. I have yanked three of these out this year alone and every one had the same problem, a tight bend on the zone wires because there was no slack left. Measured it myself with a tape and it was exactly 60 on all three. So is this a regional habit or are you all seeing it too?
