Tried watching one episode a day of a 50 episode series and I finished it in 3 weeks
I used to binge whole seasons in two days and forget half the plot by the next month, so 3 weeks ago I started capping myself at one episode before bed. Weird thing is I actually remember side characters and small details now, like a whole subplot in episode 22 I totally missed on my first watch through 4 years ago. Anyone else find that slowing down makes anime stick better, or do you just lose steam and drop it?
Man, yes. I did the same thing with a 64 episode show last year and it was like watching it for the first time. Stuff I completely zoned out on during my old binge, like a whole thing with the rival character's sister in the 30s, actually hit me this time. One episode a night also gives you time to sit with it, you know? When you watch six in a row your brain just turns to mush and everything blurs together. I never once felt like dropping it either, if anything I looked forward to it more. Turns out my attention span wasn't broken, I was just speedrunning stories like an idiot.
