Watched my buddy's anime rec list go from 4 shows to 60 in 2 years and I think I know why
So my friend Dan and I started watching anime together back in 2022, and back then his whole rec list was like 4 shows. Attack on Titan, Death Note, FMA Brotherhood, One Punch Man. That was it. Fast forward to last month and this guy hands me a spreadsheet with 60 titles on it, sorted by mood and episode count. I asked him what the hell happened and he said it was the seasonal thing. Once he started following new shows every season instead of just binging old classics, his list just snowballed. He'd watch one new show, someone in a discord would say oh if you liked that try this, and now he's got a backlog longer than mine. Honestly the jump from 4 to 60 in 2 years feels insane to me. I'm still stuck at like 12 shows because I rewatch stuff way too much. How fast did your lists grow once you stopped only watching the big name classics?
