Learned to test a dryer's thermal fuse with a loud radio trick
Had a dryer last week that would run but never heat, and I was about to order a new heating element. A guy I know who has been fixing appliances for 25 years told me to clip my meter to the thermal fuse and turn the radio up loud so I could hear the beep from across the room while I wiggled the wires. Turned out the fuse had a hairline crack that only showed when I moved it, and a $9 part fixed the whole thing. Saved the customer about $120 on a heater they did not need. Anyone else use sound tricks like that to test parts without a second set of hands?
