TIL that cheap $60 pole saw from the box store cost me a whole Saturday and a good climbing rope
The oiler quit after about 40 cuts on a red oak in my backyard, so the bar got hot and grabbed, and when I yanked it loose the saw swung back and chewed right through my climbing line hanging on the fence post. Replacing that rope ran me $180 and the saw is now a paperweight on the shelf. Anyone got a reliable gas pole saw they actually trust past one season, or should I just rent one when I need it?
