I finally got a clean pottery profile after 5 failed tries with dental picks. Switched to a soft paintbrush and water.

Tbh it's just a piece of pottery, not a museum piece. Five tries with dental tools seems like a ton of effort for cleaning up some old dirt. Ngl, people can get a bit too into the whole archaeology cosplay thing. A paintbrush was always the obvious choice.

Five whole tries with dental picks? That sounds like a lot of drama for a piece of pottery. It's not like you're doing surgery on a priceless artifact. A soft brush was always going to be the gentler option. People get way too intense about cleaning methods for what is basically old dirt.

Look, my last pottery cleaning attempt ended with a chunk of the rim in my hand. So yeah, maybe I overcorrected with the picks. Got a bit carried away, like I was defusing a bomb. Sometimes you just have to admit you brought a scalpel to a dust bunny fight. A soft brush is definitely the smarter move.
