My office chair exploded during a Zoom meeting last Tuesday

I was sitting there listening to my boss ramble about quarterly goals when I felt a sudden lurch. Next thing I know, the gas cylinder on my chair shot out with a loud pop and I hit the floor. The whole seat dropped about six inches and tilted to the left. My coworker saw the whole thing on camera and started laughing. I had to finish the meeting sitting on a stack of old printer paper boxes. Turns out the chair was from 2017 and the piston just gave up. Has anyone else had a chair fail on them in a dramatic way?
