That one guy at the hardware store changed my mind on drywall anchors
I was grabbing some supplies for hanging shelves in my garage last Saturday, and this older guy in the aisle just came up to me out of nowhere. He saw me holding a pack of those plastic expansion anchors and said, 'Those things are a joke, grab some toggle bolts instead, trust me.' I kind of brushed him off at first, but he stood there and explained how he had a shelf fall down on his truck two years ago because of cheap anchors. So I gave in and got the toggles, and man, those shelves are solid as a rock now. I still think plastic anchors work fine for light stuff like a small picture frame, but for anything heavy, he was right. Has anyone else had a random stranger give advice that actually worked out better than your own plan?
