inMy tent pole snapped in the middle of a storm at Devil's Lake
Heard a guy used a trekking pole as a replacement once. That work for you?

inQuestion about AI video generation and a weird thing that happened last week
Actually weirdly enough my cousin was messing around with one of those face swap apps last week and it kept pulling up a random guy from like 2008 in the background of his photos. @grace926 it's super unsettling how the AI just grabs whatever its training data has stored up. Reminds me of when I used an old photo restoration tool and it added a random cat to my grandpa's shoulder that was definitely not in the original.

Won't that just rust out like Jake's did though?

inThat LG fridge compressor that ate my whole Thursday
That 20 minute cycle you mentioned is exactly what I saw on a Frigidaire last year. I used to swear by replacing the compressor relay first thing, thought that was always the culprit. But after that job I started checking the board connections with a multimeter before even ordering parts. The symptom was identical: compressor would run fine for a while then drop out like a bad overload. Saved so much time since then. Do you look at the solder joints under a magnifier or just probe them while the unit runs?

inShoutout to the client who made me rethink my whole approach to extractions
My third client today had skin so reactive I probably could have set off a sneeze just by looking at her wrong. I tried a trick where I used a warm compress for like five minutes before even touching anything, and it made the pores open up way easier without me having to apply hardly any pressure. I still managed to leave a red mark on my own forehead from absent-mindedly scratching an itch, but hey, at least her skin looked better than mine.
