A wheel builder at the swap meet in Portland showed me the 1/4 turn trick and my dish gauge finally agrees with me
I was at the swap meet up in Portland last Saturday, mostly digging for used cogs, when this older guy at the wheel building table watched me fight with a rear wheel for like 10 minutes. He grabbed my spoke wrench and told me to go a quarter turn on the non drive side first, then a half on the drive side, and just keep flipping back and forth instead of cranking one side all the way. I tried it on the next wheel and the dish came out dead on with way less fiddling. Never thought a 2 minute conversation would fix something I've been fighting for months. How do you all keep your tension even across the whole wheel without chasing it forever?
