Chose a small refractor over a big Dobsonian for my balcony, no regrets
I had to pick between a 10 inch Dob I could only use at a dark site and a 4 inch apo that fits on my apartment balcony in Chicago. Went with the apo because I can actually get it out in 5 minutes between clouds. The views of the moon and planets are sharp enough that I don't miss the aperture most nights. Anyone else traded light gathering for convenience and stuck with it?
