I was set on getting a wide field shot of the Milky Way, but a friend's photo changed my mind

I had a clear night planned at Joshua Tree and was going to use my 24mm lens for a big sky view. Then my friend Mark showed me his close-up of the Orion Nebula taken with his 600mm lens, and the detail was amazing. I switched to my 300mm and spent the night on that one target instead, and I'm so glad I did. What's a target that made you change your plans for a shoot?

Yeah, I did that for the Andromeda Galaxy once... @the_kim gets it.

Honestly, that's a great call. I've totally ditched a whole wide-angle plan for a single crisp shot of Jupiter and its moons.
