Heard a young tech say 'we'll just scan it' for a 1992 Chevy's dented quarter panel
It made me think about how we used to rely on measuring tapes and our eyes for every job, not just a computer screen, and I wonder if that basic skill is fading away for good.

Our 3D scanner catches a twisted rail the human eye missed on a 2005 Silverado.

The skill is already gone for a lot of the new guys. They trust the machine's number over their own two eyes. It's faster, sure, but when that scanner glitches or the power goes out, they're stuck. You can't replace the gut feeling of knowing a panel is right just by looking down the line.
