My brake line rotted out on I-70 last Tuesday and I limped it home on the parking brake
Pedal went soft just past the Eagle exit last Tuesday, and by the time I pulled over I could see fluid dripping off the rear line. The line had rusted through right above the fuel tank strap, which is apparently a known weak spot on these trucks. I topped off the reservoir, drove the last 12 miles at 25 mph using the parking brake for stops, and parked it in the driveway. New line, some flare nuts, and a $40 flaring tool later, it holds pressure fine. Anyone got a trick for bleeding these rear brakes without a helper? I'm tired of yelling at my wife through the wheel well.
