A client asked why my portfolio photos were so dark - best feedback I got all year

@green.mason do you think a ring light would help with hiding the dark circles under my eyes, or is that just wishful thinking?

Warning: My website's red/green buttons lost me a $2000 client

Yeah honestly I didn't used to think about this stuff either. I always just figured colors were clear enough for most people and that was good enough. But then my buddy who's colorblind showed me a website I designed and said he couldn't tell the difference between the active and inactive buttons. That was a wake up call. Now I always add little icons or text labels alongside any color coding. Have you had to redesign something after realizing color alone wasn't enough?

My worst tech support week ever - got hit with a ransomware scare and a phishing test all in 48 hours

@faith_smith’s right about grandma clicking something sketchy - my aunt did the same thing with a fake delivery notice last month. Took me an hour to walk her through a password reset on her flip phone, but at least she paid me with a batch of chocolate chip cookies. These phishing tests from IT are garbage timing too, they always hit when you’re already stressed out.

My business card order came back with a spelling error I missed

Ha... I had a batch of business cards come back with my email address spelled wrong once. Not just one letter, but the whole domain was off by two characters. I handed them out at a networking event and someone pointed it out after like five minutes. Just sat there nodding and pretending I planned it as a conversation starter. Now I send everything to my mom first for proofreading... she catches stuff even spellcheck misses.

The moon landing footage has this one detail nobody seems to catch

Perspective distortion from a wide-angle lens can make parallel shadows look like they're pointing different directions.
