Appreciation post: a guy at my local shop in Tulsa showed me his hand-cut derailleur hanger trick and it fixed my 3 week shifting headache
I was about to order a new hanger for a customer's bike because the alignment gauge kept showing it was off no matter how much I bent it. He grabbed a flat file, hit it for maybe 20 seconds on the backside, and the gauge dropped right into the green. Do you all true the hanger face too, or is that overkill for most tune-ups?
