Warning: I put my logo on a bright yellow box and it disappeared at 40 feet
Back in 2011 I did the packaging for a small honey company in Madison and I thought yellow on yellow was clever since bees are yellow. I printed 200 sample boxes at the local shop on Highway 51 and set them on a shelf across the warehouse. At 10 feet you could read the label fine. At 40 feet the whole thing turned into one big yellow smear and the logo just vanished. What I learned is that logos need contrast to survive at distance, not just to look nice up close on a screen. Has anyone here tested their logo at 40 feet or farther before? Curious what distance you use as your cutoff.
Did you ever try squinting at it from across the street to see if that counts as a real test? I skipped the distance test on a logo once and felt pretty silly when it looked like a blob on a banner at the county fair. My cutoff now is 40 feet, since that is where most signs and boxes get seen from.
