I called those fuel injector cleaner bottles a total scam for 9 years, then my truck started knocking on I-40
Honestly, I always told customers those $9 bottles at the parts store were just colored water and a waste of money. But my 2003 Silverado started knocking hard outside Amarillo two months ago, so I dumped a bottle in the tank at a Love's and drove 180 miles home. The knock got quieter by the time I hit my driveway, and a compression check a week later showed all 8 cylinders back within 4 psi of each other. Ngl I still think most of those additives are junk, but the one with PEA in it did something real. Anyone got a brand they've seen work on a high-mileage motor, or did I just get lucky?
