Just realized I was seating wheel bearings with a brass drift for 9 years
Bought a $40 bearing race driver set last month after a 2014 Civic hub job ate my drift and started a tiny crack in the race. How do you all seat races without a driver, or am I the last guy still using a punch?

Nine years with a brass drift is not as bad as you make it sound. A drift and a hammer let you feel the race go in square since you are tapping around the edge and hearing it change pitch as it seats. The real risk with those cheap $40 driver sets is you get one size that is close but not exact, and then you are just pounding on the cage or the rollers instead of the race itself. Brand new tools do not fix bad feel either, guys crack races with drivers all the time.
