Old timer at the Napa counter saved me $300 on a transmission flush
I was about to drop cash on a full transmission flush for my 2004 Silverado with 180k miles when this retired mechanic waiting in line told me to just do a drain and fill instead. He said flushes can shoot debris into the valve body on high-mileage trucks, and sure enough, my buddy's shop did a drain and fill for $80 and it's shifting smoother than ever. Has anyone else had a flush go wrong on an older vehicle?
