Shoutout to the old guy who taught me to check the ground first

I was in a shop in Tacoma last month, stuck on a 2017 Silverado with a no-crank. I had replaced the starter and battery, but it was still dead. An old timer walked by, pointed at the engine block, and said, 'Clean the ground strap, kid.' I did, and it fired right up. How many hours do you think we all waste by not starting with the simple stuff?

Sometimes you gotta rule out the expensive parts first.

My buddy's car was making a noise. He spent weeks on the cheap fixes. Turned out to be the transmission.
