All these new planes with fiber optics are tricky. I started using a visual fault locator and WOW, it makes finding breaks a BREEZE.

These visual fault locators got cheap enough for anyone to buy now. Back in the day, only big companies could afford that gear. Now a small shop can find a break fast and save on repair bills.

Wait, what? You can actually SEE where a fiber optic cable is broken now? That's crazy, I always figured that stuff was basically magic.

It's actually been possible for ages, Andrew, it's just not common knowledge outside the field.
