I thought torque specs were overkill until I saw the number in the SRM
I used to hit coax connectors with a wrench and call it good, figured a little extra snug never hurt anyone. Then I was flipping through the SRM for a GPS antenna swap and saw the install torque on the TNC was listed at 8 in-lbs max, plus a note that overtorquing cracks the dielectric and ruins the connector. I had been cranking them way past that for a long time without knowing. Now I carry a small dial torque wrench in the go bag, and I want to know if you all actually follow the book on every connector or only the ones that matter.
