That moment a line mechanic asked me why I double-check every pin on a 737 cannon plug
He said he just plugs them in and moves on, then I spent 10 minutes explaining how one bent pin grounded a whole fleet for a day back in 2018. Made me wonder if I'm too paranoid or if the rest of the field just gets lucky. Any of you ever had a call that changed how you approach a connector check?

That 2018 grounding was actually caused by a misaligned pin in a different connector, not the cannon plug.

Bet that wire was chafing somewhere else too though.

Found a bent pin in a connector once, just straightened it with a tiny flathead and it worked fine after that.
