Warning: Don't buy a used dredge cutterhead without checking the teeth first

Man, that hurts to read. "Good shape" from a guy in Mobile doesn't sound like it held up at all. Sorry you got burned like that.

Can we talk about how long it took me to fix a simple phishing filter

Gotta say, I used to roll my eyes at stories like this thinking "how hard can it really be to find a setting?" but after dealing with a similar ghost hunt at my last place I totally get it now. We had this weird issue where emails from one specific client kept getting flagged as spam, nothing in the logs made sense for like two days. Turned out some intern back in 2019 had added a custom rule to block anything from an old vendor domain and the client happened to use the same email service. Took forever to trace because the rule was buried under like five layers of settings nobody ever touches.

Burned a 20 foot section of sidewalk last Tuesday because I didn't wait for the bleed water to evaporate before floating

Last July I floated a driveway too early and it turned into a crusty mess by noon.

Had to pick between spacing tokens or component variants for a client deadline.

Totally feel you on that. Same thing happened here with a modal that had like 14 different states. Ended up just ripping out all the variants and using a single spacing token for the padding and margin. Then I added one boolean prop for the close button location and that was it. It wasn't perfect but it shipped on time and nobody complained. @the_terry you gotta pick your battles sometimes.

Always thought gas mowers were better until I tried a corded electric one from a buddy

Ha, welcome to the club buddy. I ran a gas mower for years and felt like a tough guy every time I had to yank the cord until my shoulder popped. Then I used a corded electric and realized I was just making my life harder for no reason. Cord management is a minor hassle but way better than messing with gas cans or spark plugs. You're right, once you go electric you don't go back.
