Backyard trail shut down, need backpacking route suggestions nearby

I live next to Greenwood Park, and they've shut down the west section of the Maple Ridge Loop for maintenance. This was my go-to weekend hike. Now I'm stuck figuring out where to go without driving far. Does anyone know good connector trails in that area? I'd prefer something with similar elevation gain.

Man, my buddy Nate ran into the same problem last fall. He found an old fire road that connects to the Hemlock Valley trail from the north parking lot. Have you checked the park map for those smaller connector paths?

Yeah it's like when your grocery store moves things around and you have to find a new way to the milk. You just figure out another route! Those old park maps hide all the good back doors.

Ever notice how stuff you count on just disappears? That old fire road might be your fix, same way we find detours when our usual coffee spot closes.
