I finally counted my trail miles for the year and hit 1,203, which is almost double what I guessed
I keep a little notebook where I write down every hike, mostly so I remember which routes had water and which ones didn't. Last weekend I added up everything since January and the total came out to 1,203 miles. I honestly thought I was around 700. The weird part is I don't feel like I hiked that much, which means a lot of it was short 4 and 5 mile loops near my house in Flagstaff that I never counted as real hikes. It also made me realize I've done the same 9 mile ridge route 14 times this year and barely touched the trails on the other side of the highway. That bugs me more than the total does. Anyone else track their miles and get surprised by how much of it is just the same local loop over and over?
