Took the Northville-Placid Trail last week and counted 11 blowdowns in one 4 mile stretch
I hiked the section from Duck Hole down toward Placid last week and it felt like a whole different trail than the one I did in 2021. I counted 11 blowdowns in a single 4 mile stretch, and 3 of them needed a real climb over or a muddy walk around. What got me was how much of it was fresh stuff, like the storm last spring just rearranged the whole corridor. There's also a reroute around one washed out bridge that nobody seems to have marked well, and I only found it because an old timer with a paper map pointed me the right way. I get that trail crews can only do so much with a short season, but it made me wonder how the route holds up for folks doing the full 138 miles. Has anyone been through the western end this summer and seen if it's any better?
