Ditched my one-size-fits-all mower deck level for a feeler gauge trick

For 6 years I just set my deck height with the bolt holes and hoped for the best. Then a guy in Tucson showed me how to use a .010 feeler gauge under the blade to match the front and rear deck edges, takes 15 minutes now. My lawn in the backyard finally cuts even, no more scalping on the bumps near the garage corner. Anyone else level their mower deck with a gauge instead of guessing?
