Hot take: you don't need a full room build for a decent backyard studio
I spent about 8 months planning a full framed build in my yard outside Denver, got two quotes back at $22k and $26k, and almost signed the second one. Then a neighbor named Ray let me poke around his 10x12 shed conversion that he finished for around $3,500 total, insulated walls, a small window AC, and a 20 amp circuit run from the house. I sat in there for an hour in July and it stayed cool enough to actually work. The thing people get wrong is thinking square footage and framing are what make a studio usable, when it is really the power, the AC, and a door that locks. Curious what you all think the real cutoff is where a shed stops being enough and you have to go full build.
