Saw a guy in Nashville build a whole vocal booth out of moving blankets and PVC pipe

Was visiting a buddy's backyard studio near Berry Hill and he swore by this setup. Said it cost him $40 and absorbed more echo than my $200 foam panels. Has anyone else tested the blanket method against real acoustic treatment?

Moving blankets are legit for the price.

Ended up building one myself after seeing a video from a home studio guy on YouTube. @joseph_lewis92 is totally right, moving blankets kill the harsh reflections way better than you'd expect. I layered two on each wall frame and it cut the bathroom tile sound out of my vocals instantly. Foam panels are good but they don't absorb low end like the dense blanket material does, especially if you double them up. For $40 you can't beat it for a quick fix.
