Why I think the 2px border radius trend on buttons is a lazy cop out, and a client in Phoenix made me rethink it
I sat in a coffee shop on Camelback Road in Phoenix two years ago with a client who runs a small hardware store. He looked at the mockup I made with 0px square buttons and said the flat edges made his checkout feel like a government form. I pushed back at first because I thought sharp corners looked more modern and serious for a tool shop. But he pulled up his own site on his phone, pointed at the softened corners on his old WordPress theme, and said customers kept telling him it felt friendlier. Now I test both versions with real users instead of trusting my gut. Has anyone else had a client change your mind on a detail you were sure about?
