Just realized the worst park bench I've ever seen was actually a clever fix.
I walked past this metal bench in Portland for years thinking it was just a rusty, ugly eyesore. Then I noticed the city had welded a second, smaller bench directly onto the original frame at a weird angle, creating a backrest for the first one. Has anyone else seen a 'repair' that accidentally created a whole new piece of bad design?

My buddy had a landlord who "fixed" a broken cabinet door by screwing a completely different, bright blue one right over the old one. It was like a weird patchwork monster, but hey, it sort of closed.
