A bakery in Portland printed its whole menu in Brush Script and the owner got weirdly defensive about it
I asked if the cursive was hard to read for older folks and she said "that's the font my daughter picked, so it stays." Am I the jerk for thinking a menu should be legible before it's cute?
Genuine question, has anyone actually told her it's a problem besides you? Like did a real customer walk out because they couldn't read the prices, or is this more of a hunch on your end? Wondering because there's a difference between a menu that's truly unreadable and one that's just annoying to look at, and a lot of older folks are better at reading script than we give them credit for. If she's had zero complaints, her stubbornness is still weird (defending a font choice that hard is a red flag on its own) but maybe not the actual issue.
