A realtor in Savannah put my house listing in Papyrus and I almost didn't recognize my own porch
I was scrolling the MLS site two weeks ago and saw my own 1920s bungalow for sale under a heading in Papyrus, with my porch photo cropped so tight the swing got cut off. I called her and she laughed and mentioned it was the only font in the drop down with a beach vibe, which makes no sense for a brick house four blocks from downtown. Does anyone have a nice way to say 'please use a normal font on my biggest asset' without sounding like a jerk?
Papyrus for a 1920s bungalow is just wrong, plain and simple. That font belongs on a menu at a tiki bar, not on a listing for a brick house near downtown. The fact that she picked it off a dropdown because it felt beachy tells you she didn't even look at your place, she just grabbed whatever looked fun. You're not being a jerk by wanting the biggest thing you own to look like it's being sold by a grown up. Just tell her flat out that the font needs to change, keep the porch photo whole, and you'd rather see something clean and plain like Arial or Helvetica. You don't owe her a soft landing on this one, it's your house and your money on the line.
