My typography teacher at DePaul told me in 2009 to never set a whole menu in Papyrus, and one restaurant on Clark Street proved her right
I waited tables at this little Greek spot on Clark Street back in 2011 and the owner printed his whole menu in Papyrus, even the prices. Regulars used to joke that the appetizer list looked like a bad yoga studio flyer, and he finally switched to Garamond after a food blogger roasted him online. She retired a few years back but I still think about that rule every time I see Papyrus on a storefront. What font do you all see in the wild that instantly makes you assume the place is a mess?
