Confession: I secretly miss the burger menu on mobile sites

Okay I know everyone hated the hamburger icon for hiding stuff, but now every app is shoving everything into bottom nav bars and it drives me nuts. I'm a painter, so I use my phone to look up paint codes and supplier inventory between jobs, and the last three apps I tried all put five tabs at the bottom with tiny icons. I fat-finger the wrong one every single time, especially with gloves on. At least with the burger menu I could take my time and see a full list. Is the bottom nav really better after all, or are we just following the trend because Apple and Google push it? Who else is tired of accidental taps? I've hit the wrong tab like 8 times this week on one app alone and it's always the same feeling of annoyance, like the app is yelling at me for being clumsy. Has anyone else noticed this swing too far in the other direction, or am I just an old guy stuck in 2016?
