My mom's 'just tap the button' advice broke my ride sharing app for a week

She told me to press the SOS button as a joke while I was stuck in a sketchy part of Chicago at 2am, so I tapped it to see what it did. Turns out that button triggers an automated call to 911 and locks your trip details for 7 days, I couldn't rebook or cancel without calling their support line twice. Has anyone else accidentally set off a panic feature that made things worse, or is my family just cursed with bad timing?
