Remember when everyone said you needed a giant 'hamburger' menu on mobile sites?

I thought it was a dumb trend that hid everything, but a client's analytics showed a 30% drop in page views after we switched to one. We put the main links back in a simple bar and traffic went up in a week. Anyone else have a design rule they fought against that turned out to be right?

I argued for those giant menus for like a year before our own data proved me wrong lol.

Our analytics showed a 40% drop in conversions on mobile with those huge menus. The problem was hiding the checkout and contact pages, people just gave up. I pushed for a bottom navigation bar with clear icons instead. It felt like a fight at the time but the bounce rate dropped by half.

Data wins arguments every time. You can talk about design theory all day, but a 40% drop is a fact you can't ignore. Good call sticking to your guns.
