That "save as" habit I had almost ruined a whole project
I used to just hit Ctrl+S without thinking, but in Figma that writes over the same file. Lost a version my client LOVED after 2 days of edits. Now I hit "Save as copy" every time before I start a new round of changes - has anyone else lost something good this way?

Wait, is it really that serious though? Ctrl+S is standard in pretty much every software and Figma's auto-save is usually pretty solid about keeping your history. Nine times out of ten you can just go back through the version history and grab that old file. Maybe the real issue is not checking the version panel before panicking.

Felix I get where you're coming from but the version history thing isn't always as clean as people think. I've had Figma's auto-save merge changes in a weird way where going back a version still had pieces of the newer stuff mixed in. For me what really worked was just making a habit of hitting "Save as copy" before any big editing session, and also taking a screenshot of the client-approved version to have a visual backup. That way even if the file gets messy I've got a clear picture of what they originally loved. Did you ever have a time where version history actually saved you from a big mistake?
