My cake was too dense so I added a spoonful of mayo
I was making a chocolate cake last week and it came out like a brick, super heavy and dry. I remembered my grandma used to add mayo to her box mix, so I tried a tablespoon of it in my from scratch batter. The next cake was way softer and stayed moist for days, which was a huge win. Has anyone else tried weird pantry stuff to fix a bake?
Huh, mayo makes sense since it's just oil and eggs anyway. Did you change anything else in the recipe, or was it literally just the one spoonful that saved it? I'm always suspicious of miracle fixes.
