Swapped parchment for silicone mats and it saved my cookies
I was burning the bottoms of my chocolate chip cookies every time I baked them. After three ruined batches in one week I finally tried a silicone baking mat instead of parchment paper. The cookies came out perfectly golden on the bottom for the first time ever. Has anyone else had better luck with silicone over parchment for specific recipes?

Yes, silicone mats are a total game changer for cookies! I switched about a year ago and never looked back. The even heat distribution really helps with those thin, delicate cookies that always spread too much on parchment. Also, cleanup is way easier since nothing sticks to the mat at all. For things like shortbread or sugar cookies though, I still go with parchment because silicone can make them spread a tiny bit more than I want.

Honestly, have you tried flipping your silicone mat over? I use mine upside down and it cuts down on that extra spread by a lot, especially with shortbread.
