Blade slipped mid-fade on a client, here's how I handled it

Last Friday, I was doing a skin fade on a regular and my clipper skipped right at the zero line, took a chunk out near his temple. He didn't flinch, but I felt my stomach drop. I put the clippers down, told him straight up I was gonna fix it with a foil shaver and a trimmer, no excuses. Took about 10 extra minutes to blend it smooth, and he actually tipped more because I owned the mistake instead of pretending it didn't happen. Anyone else ever had a tool fail mid-cut and have to talk a client through the save?

Tbh my Wahl died mid-taper once, saved it with a .5 guard.
