Guy at my shop in Dayton told me my $5 comb was the reason my tapers looked rough
I've been cutting for 6 years and always used these cheap black combs from a 12 pack I got online. Last month a barber named Ray who rents the chair next to mine watched me do a taper on a walk in and just shook his head. He handed me his old Kent comb and made me run the same guard up the side again, and the lines came out clean with barely any flick work. I felt like an idiot because I'd been blaming my clippers for months when it was a 79 cent piece of plastic flexing on me. Went and dropped $22 on a real comb that night and honestly it changed my whole fade game. Any of you got a tool you cheaped out on for way too long and regret it?
