I tried the 'zip tie and a prayer' method for a stuck seatpost versus the ammonia trick, and wow.

Wait, are we really saying ammonia is the better way to go? I mean, that stuff is nasty to work with and can wreck your frame's paint in a second if you're not super careful. The zip tie trick might feel janky but at least it's not going to eat through anything or gas you out of your garage. Maybe it's just me but I'd take a harmless hack over a risky chemical any day.

Totally get the ammonia worry, but a drop of dish soap worked for me!
