inUpdate: My $300 Pantone book turned into a very expensive cat toy
That "studio safe" line really hits home. I've noticed expensive, specialized tools are often designed with human care in mind but completely ignore the chaos of pets or kids. My record weights are great for holding pages down, but my dog sees them as fancy hockey pucks. It's like the designers live in a perfectly sterile world.

inTrying out recycled paper for endpapers surprised me.
Yeah, the trick is blending the leaves into a pulp first, not just sticking whole ones in. Tear them up, soak them overnight, then beat the heck out of them with a blender. Mix that mush with your regular paper pulp, maybe add a little extra binder like cornstarch paste. Lets the leaf fibers actually bond instead of just sitting there waiting to crack.

inI used to plan every single mile of a trip before I left, until a ranger in Yosemite told me 'you're missing the point'
Actually, that's not quite how it works in Yellowstone. You can't just "drive and find somewhere else" if a site is full. The park's campgrounds sell out by like 10am, especially in summer. His backup spot was pure luck. The real lesson is to have a flexible plan B, not just wing it. Lots of people get turned away with no place to sleep.

inUpdate: My attempt at desk yoga triggered a contract dispute
Man, that is just the worst kind of bad luck! Getting hurt while trying to take care of yourself is bad enough, but then having it blow up into a legal thing is a nightmare. It feels so unfair that trying to fix a work injury leads to more work stress. I really hope you heal up fast and the contract stuff gets sorted without more headaches.

inCan we talk about beach resorts that blast music till 3 AM?
Does everything have to be a loud event now? Even cafes and parks feel like they're trying to be clubs these days.
