Serious question, why did my brass cable ends keep breaking after I soldered them
I started soldering my cable ends about 6 months ago because I got tired of crimp caps falling off on customer bikes, but 3 of them snapped right at the solder joint on the trail. I was using plumbing solder and a cheap torch, and a guy at the co-op in Denver told me the flux was eating into the cable strands. What solder and flux are you all using, or should I just go back to crimping and shut up about it?
